I think u can learn how to be funny forsure. A lot of it is derived from life experiences (good and bad) and external influences; movies, books, other people, etc., and how to pull from those things that make us unique. Confidence is a huge part of it too and that is a thing that can be practiced as well, putting yourself out there and not being afraid of what others think or not caring if they’re laughing with you or at you, they’re still laughing and that’s the goal to an extent. Learning boundaries is a big thing, knowing what is and isn’t ok to joke about and reading someone’s expressions to know when to “yes, and” or when the joke isn’t landing or when it is/isn’t the right time to make a joke. Yes I do think there’s tons of people who are just naturally funny, but those people still learn, practice, and study, subconsciously or not.

History of comedians has shown that, unfortunately, some of the funniest people are sometimes also the most hurt people because comedy and being funny and laughing is often a coping mechanism for a lot of us when dealing with those life experiences. So it’s definitely a fine line to walk on sometimes
