It's 12am here, but I'll ask the team to update the article to reflect what's changed since it was originally written.
If this uses trends.google.com its displaying relative search query volume, which is more akin to popularity. Example: House of Dragon's peak search popularity during the week of Aug 21 is ~50% as popular as Dahmer during the week of Sep 25th. Not exactly viewership, but an OK proxy for it.
