I'll start intentionally thinking about pieces of writing from this angle to test the theory out. Will I like them more? Is that why my favourite writers are my favourite writers?

Me too. I jsut saw someone on Twitter write a whole substack post about why she loved a piece of writing—because the writer thought like her.
