What about security?

RISC-V would be sandboxed inside @ethereum:

Only user-mode opcodes

Syscalls for storage access

Metered memory & gas

Still deterministic

Basically: more power, same safety.

Will this break existing contracts?
No.

@ethereum would support dual VMs:

Old contracts run on EVM

New contracts can opt into RISC-V

Both can call each other seamlessly

It’s a soft upgrade path — like a new engine under the same hood.

The EVM brought @ethereum from zero to one.
But to go from 1 to 100, it may be time to switch gears.

RISC-V could make Ethereum faster, cheaper, and more dev-friendly — without compromising decentralization.

2/6 The EVM is a custom, stack-based 256-bit VM. It’s simple, deterministic, and has served @ethereum well.

But it’s also slow, rigid, and painful to optimize — especially for zkEVMs.
RISC-V, by contrast, is a modern, register-based CPU architecture built for performance.
