The Silent Treatment Hurts badly, so avoid using it on your partner if you want your relationship to survive. When we shut down and refuse to communicate, we build walls instead of bridges. Note that Silence creates distance, confusion, assumptions and pain. 💭 Ask yourself: 1. When was the last time I gave my partner the silent treatment? 2. How do I feel when they give me the silent treatment? 3. What do I hope to achieve by being silent? 4. What healthier way can I express my anger or hurt? Action tip: The next time you feel hurt or angry, choose gentle words over silence. Even saying, “please, I need time to cool my head down” is better than shutting them out. I’m somebody that is very reserved but I’ve noticed that communicating my feelings makes things a lot more better and issues get sorted instead of being quiet 🙂‍↕️
