which aims to protect payment stablecoin users and enhance regulatory oversight.
For proof of reserves, the Act requires:

-. 100% reserve backing with U.S. dollars, short-term Treasuries, or similarly liquid assets as determined by the primary regulator.
-. Monthly public disclosure of reserve composition.
-. Annual audited financial statements for issuers with over $50 billion in market capitalization.
-. A prohibition on riskier reserve assets, such as corporate debt or equities.

It is illegal to market a digital asset as a payment stablecoin in the U.S. unless the asset is fully compliant with the provisions of the GENIUS Act.
