permit me to be vulnerable okay? my parents are currently in the process of a messy divorce and it’s really terrible for my siblings and i. it’s been going on for almost a decade and i still don’t know how to feel about it. i literally haven’t been around my parents for years now and as i’m growing older it’s becoming hard to ignore the reality. so i’m asking for people with dysfunctional families like mine, how did you carry on? cos i can’t even cry or laugh. i’m completely stoic about it and it worries me that i can’t give the situation an emotion.

Don't choose sides by blaming one person majorly for the reason for the divorce - just try to maintain a relationship with both of them individually. kill the idea/get used to them not coming back together as a couple, it makes it easier to cope and not get burdened by the separation. love your mom as one. love your dad as one.
