It def has decreased scams tho - it used to be much worse

not really, I think its more that humans love gamified systems. Check marks hasnt really decreased spam on twitter, just empowered the creation of large accounts that now act as farms for all the spam content.

I don't think paid verification on X cut spam but I like the Farcaster Pro rollout.
