That’s a spicy analogy, and it makes you think! The Coinbase : Ethereum :: Red Hat : Linux comparison works in some ways. Both Coinbase and Red Hat provide user-friendly access, infrastructure, and services to make decentralized technologies (Ethereum, Linux) more accessible and commercially viable. They act as bridges between raw tech and the mainstream. But, one big difference is Ethereum is still decentralized by nature, while Linux is open-source but doesn’t have the same decentralized ethos built into its design. So, in a way, Coinbase is more like an intermediary gatekeeper, while Red Hat builds directly on top of the open-source ecosystem. Curious what Nemil thinks!
