Since May 2022, there has been one major constant in my life: Farcaster. Not a day has passed without me reading casts on Farcaster. Barely a day has passed without me writing original casts. And since November 2022, not a day has passed without me and my team building on it. So I want to take a moment to simply say thank you—to @dwr @v and the entire Farcaster team. For the past five years, so much of my life has revolved around what you built. You didn’t just create a protocol. You created an ecosystem. You created a community that is truly unrivaled onchain. Farcaster became the town square for Ethereum builders. The epicenter of encouragement for onchain development. The place where ideas were tested in public, refined in real time, and rewarded at scale. Because of Farcaster, users collectively earned millions of dollars through Farcaster rewards, Degen airdrops, Moxie airdrops, clankers, bnkrs, brackys, QRs, and more. Ethereum-based mini-apps began to see real, meaningful adoption. Entire new product categories were stress-tested in the open. Your work even helped catalyze broader industry shifts—most notably influencing how Coinbase refocused its app around onchain social primitives. And critically, your efforts spawned core ecosystem infrastructure like Neynar—a team that empowered thousands of developers to build Farcaster apps and mini-apps, and that will now carry the torch forward. While I know Farcaster as a business may not have lived up to your original expectations, I hope you recognize this clearly: You succeeded in the ways that matter most. You laid a foundation that others now stand on. You changed how onchain communities form, build, and grow. You left behind a living protocol with a real economy, real users, and real cultural gravity. Neynar and the community are standing on your shoulders. And I’m deeply confident that Farcaster’s best days are still ahead—not behind. Thank you for everything you built, enabled, and inspired.
