With giving feedback, I have also found that it often lands better when you root it strongly in your own experience of the product (and other experiences) rather than projecting and generalizing.

Definitely food for thought. 
 
Feedback maybe the breakfast for champions, however, not everyone is a champion from the outset.

a hard balance to maintain. especially in early days when things are especially fragile.
