most of the time you won’t find people like you in these spaces, forcing code switching – ultimately contributing to a flatter expression of identity and interests

this was quite surprising after years at creative spaces where amplifying your individuality is expected

Not sure what gender you identify as or plan on presenting, but if you are going from masc presenting to femme, you begin to experience all the discrimination that women get in the workplace and worse if you don’t pass.

tbh very new to me bc only started fem presenting like 6 months ago 

but probs this’ll have to be the approach for me too – focus on learning and continue to show up

As a femme presenting they/them, I honestly just stopped caring. I recognize that every single event I go to I’ll experience some form of micro aggression. So I choose to direct my energy towards new people I met at that event who I’ve learned from.

def felt that shift!! but being the different one is often the exact reason you need to be in the room so trying to see the discomfort as part of the role.

for the space as a whole, i like the idea of being a reference for new ppl, and crypto needs new ppl so we're doing god's work amen!!
