not enough people talk about how uneasy tech events can feel if you’re gender non-conforming most of the time you won’t find people like you in these spaces, forcing code switching – ultimately contributing to a flatter expression of identity and interests this was quite surprising after years at creative spaces where amplifying your individuality is expected would be interested to hear from others (women, lgbtq+) on how you all found this

As a femme presenting they/them, I honestly just stopped caring. I recognize that every single event I go to I’ll experience some form of micro aggression. So I choose to direct my energy towards new people I met at that event who I’ve learned from.

def felt that shift!! but being the different one is often the exact reason you need to be in the room so trying to see the discomfort as part of the role. for the space as a whole, i like the idea of being a reference for new ppl, and crypto needs new ppl so we're doing god's work amen!!
