Opaque systems breed inefficiency, fraud, and distrust—middlemen skim profits, counterfeit goods slip through, and disputes drag on due to unverifiable data. A decentralized ledger could track every step of a product's journey, from raw materials to delivery, immutably and in real-time. This would cut costs, reduce fraud, and build trust among parties who don’t naturally trust each other. It’s a dealbreaker because opacity inflates prices, delays goods, and undermines fair trade—issues that ripple across economies.
