I've been an immigrant for almost 10 years now. I first moved from Albania to the UK, then to the US, then Japan—and now I'm back in the US. I deeply miss my family, my country and my language. Every time I unexpectedly hear my native tongue—whether in a song or from someone nearby—it brings tears to my eyes. It's not about patriotism; it's the quiet ache of always feeling like a foreigner, no matter where I go. I have immense respect for immigrants around the world who leave everything behind to challenge themselves and start anew.

Unfortunately, not many people (who were born where they live.) realise this and it is difficult. I moved from Russia to Bulgaria when I was 7 years old, renounced one citizenship, got another. But I still often feel like a stranger in both countries n everywhere) We need onchain to be phisical)

Alaska feels like a different country from the rest of the lower 48. I see you’re in Cali! Might have to meet up next time I visit family. :)

A lot of empathies. There are millions who are born in one country, grew up in another, live/work/study in another etc. A network society for immigrants and third culture kids?

This feeling of missing my roots and homeland gets stronger as I get older.

It must be hard to move to another country. Grateful that technology is so good these days you can connect with friends and family online. 400 $degen
