Sometimes I think about, Socrates without Plato would not have Plato. There's certain kinds of people that need the presence of others in order for the best to come out of them - and there are others that pull the best out of those that are out there - that is fascinating

Sometimes it really is hard to tell the difference between nature and nurture because are you being influenced or is it just in your nature to find success through collaboration or is it just luck

Agreed lots of interdependence. Socrates would likely be successful without Plato though maybe not in the same way. As an extreme alternative history, if Socrates was born and raised in a brutal dictatorship where all opinions resulted in immediate death, I’m less optimistic about the success of Socrates.
