Seeking advice: I currently use two macbooks throughout the day, which ever one im using at the moment is clamshelled and plugged into my displaylink docking station with 3 monitors. The dock plugs directly into the macbook via usbc thunderbolt. My current process requres me to unhook, and undock one macbook, disconnect keyboard and mouse, and reconnect the 2nd mac. Ideal state - both macbooks are directly connected to the displaylink docking station and with a flip of a switch I can work off the other seamlessly. See diagrams below. I know KVM stations exist but im not sure how those work seeing as I need the displaylink software and enabled docking station. Is what I want to do possible?

Should be possible I don’t own two Mac’s but I have this exact issue between main rig and work laptop but multiply x20 peripherals. I have a kvm switch and it all works one click and all peripherals switch to new machine. Maybe have had to do the on/off hard reset once a year
