most people take defaults for granted
from the digital apps they use to even things like religion
in the AI era we're accelerating towards - defaults will get outcompeted fast
simply knowing about better things / better quality things can get you much further
people talk about taste a lot but taste could just be the knowledge about the best that exist today in the world and can be in any domain you like
