Funding still chases vanity metrics like DAU because they are legible to investors, not because it directly maps to user progress. A healthier market rewards products that compress the path from intent to result. As a founder... go beyond DAUs, get surgical. What's your user's intent, and how fast are you filling it?

Not just investors, it’s legible to legacy technologies mostly focused on quantified information at scale. Today with LLMs we actually have a useful way to experiment with qualitative information, both on a personal level and at scale, that can be contextualized to almost any kind of project. So yeah no excuse for not moving beyond DAUs
