This whole being stranded for 2 weeks on a road trip waiting for a transmission is getting ridiculous. I just wanna be home. The logistics are making me go crazy

Stranded in my hometown in wisconsin with our car stranded in Omaha, NE. Which is nice to see family, but there is nothing to do in these small towns and it's hard to not have any private space to unwind

I couldn’t agree more. There’s still a deep sense of community in a way larger cities tend to lose. Kind of like Farcaster :)

Omaha has some cool parts, and at least is still a proper city (at least for the area), but once you're out in the farm towns like where my parents are at, you have to make all of your fun. Which can be good, but can also get old. I do think everyone should visit and see the midwest/middle America, though! The "flyover" states deserve some love and respect. Filled with good, down to earth people.

No joke - Omaha is at the top of my list of places I want to visit. I have a bit of an obsession/fascination over small towns in the U.S. that everyone knows the name of but aren’t popular vacations destinations.

No private space is rough though. That’ll make anyone want to go home right away. Hope you can soon.
