Gothic literature has always intrigued me because it doesn’t shy away from exploring the things that scare us most. It pulls us into dark, atmospheric settings—often crumbling castles, fog-shrouded moors, or decaying mansions—and invites us to confront the unknown. The characters in these stories are often trapped, whether physically or psychologically, and their struggle for freedom or redemption is what makes the narrative so compelling. The gothic genre, in many ways, is about facing the darkness, both literal and metaphorical, and understanding how it shapes us.
