Not Kind, Just Aware 🔍

My son once asked,
“Dad, aren’t you too kind?”

I smiled and said,
“I’m not really a kind person.
I’ve just come to realize that most things in life are actually quite trivial.
And once you understand that,
there’s not much left to get angry about.”

After a pause, I added,
“I also learned that being considerate of others
often turns out to be a benefit to myself as well.
That’s probably why I seem kind.

But it’s not some calculated kindness—
it’s more like practicing how to see the world with a wider lens.”

Finally, I told him,
“Don’t cling to small, immediate gains.
Instead, learn to find ways where everyone can win.
That’s the path to true wisdom.”
