"Can't users use other servers? Yes, they can. But in the same way as web browser is not responsible for the content you can access, SimpleX app should not restrict your communications with other servers based on blocking action from just one server. That approach allows different server operators to have different content policies, depending on their jurisdiction and other factors. It also prevents the possibility of abuse by server operators."

I think it's a solid move, but I'd love to see "protocol privacy" elevated to a strategic priority. What really gets to me is that I constantly have to bring it up just to raise awareness. Privacy needs to be baked into Ethereum's DNA. Period.

view from normie not hardcore ppl proton calendar: ppl will instead sync with google or apple cal, and let them snoop in. they won't use davx5 etc Proton wallet is shit, nobodx cares proton docs: same, ppl will put their documents on clouds protonpass: ppl will reuse passwords and emails protonmail: convenient way to use protonpass aliases proton drive: ppl else will less secure options with gdrive and apple cloud protonvpn: if you try out more servers, you will actually find one which isnt detected as vpn (and can use vpn protected dapps) in total, the right way for privacy curious ppl who don't want to self host or take eggs out of the basket as first step

is ok to have skepticism, but listing things like that Proton donates to Ukraine and other stuff makes this again very subjective. ending this on "There are alternatives to Proton that are owned by Americans and transparent in their ownership" just makes me think even more what agenda does this site have?
