A new report says the Air India plane crash in June happened because the engines lost fuel mid air. The London bound flight crashed just after takeoff from Ahmedabad. All passengers died except one. The fuel switches were flipped off during takeoff, one after the other cutting power to the engines. Cockpit audio shows one pilot asked, (Why did you cutoff?) and the other replied he didn’t. The switches were turned back on too late, the engines hadn’t restarted before the crash. The switches are supposed to be protected with locks to avoid accidents.
