Politics across all levels is mostly about winning the next election. Every other thing is just a way to this means, and in doing so, politicians will always pander to the majoritys anger/concern, not that they're interested in solving the issue but just to rile people up to cover up their own inefficiency, it's like supplying opium to the majority to make then forget the said politicians atrocities for a while. Same playbook every time.
Recently, it's immigration, push failed policies, instead of owning up, decide to push on immigration and push some harsh laws you know won't stand in court just to sound macho. Rile everyone up, as it's near the election period, win next election, rinse, and repeat. Same play book almost everywhere.
Catching up on recent UK policies, especially on immigration, I can't even express how disgusting it is. Seeing updates that the new rule will apply to current immigrants is even more sickening.
