The NYC elections is really ruffling feathers, Mamdani is such a fine candidates just that I don't agree with his ideas fully.  I don't want to dive into politics but I'll try and explain my thoughts in football terms. 

Government like any other organization operates on the same set of "ism" there is just a limited ways human organizations have been taught to operate, as a football fan, I can draw evidence from the clubs sample size and juxtapose it with government.

Successful clubs in recent years have been built on a certain identity "ism" and its common knowledge that clubs without an identity can't survive in footy, its called "playing style". 

We have the "jdp" style where everyone has equal responsibilities, we can liken it to socialism. It's the identity of Spanish football. 

In England bar "arsenal wenger" days it was mostly "kick and follow, more like long ball" get the ball to the best player as soon as possible, the target man football. I'd liken it to capitalism. Where almost everyone plays to feed the target man.

In Germany it's more like aggressive footy, a mixed version of Spain jdp where everyone is involved to get the ball up to the target man.


However, while these are just base identity, the most successful team is the one who find balance between the two,  the peak barca in recent times play the best possessive footy (socialism) and the best capitalist football, every one touches the ball but the goal is to get it to Messi, then everyone, the system was kind enough to make everyone seen but at same  brutal speed rally round their best .

Same reason arsenal was successful and were even able to go unbeaten, get everyone involved but the still have an x factor player (henry).

In simpler terms  "everyone = X factor = goal", 

Socialism believes with everyone effort you can achieve the goal without any X factor player. 
"Everyone = goal".

Capitalism believes x factor is only needed to reach the goal. 
" X factor = goal"


The most successful teams have been that have a balanced version of the two, reason why the German team were very good those days till pep to bayern transfer, then everyone tried socialist football yet no results. It's already showing in International level as well. The German team is known for aggressive football where everyone is involved to get the ball to an x factor.
