I came into this class with @nounishprof knowing absolutely nothing about crypto, so please forgive me if my insights into this base camp live stream are a bit elementary.
1.My first insight is that I had no idea just how globalized crypto was. In class we learned about it reaching various parts of Europe or South America, but it honestly never occurred to me that there would be 44 countries represented at Base Camp or that a keynote speaker would be from somewhere in Southeast Asia (Malaysia). Even before seeing this clip I knew my professor had said how it was growing in popularity worldwide and becoming increasingly more mainstream, but I still just couldn’t wrap my head around crypto not being a niche little bubble. Typing that out I realize that probably sounds pretty naive, but I cannot emphasize how little I knew about crypto before this course. Even while typing this out I had to google whether “crypto”…
