Did Base acquire Coinbase or vice versa? I don't get their relation. Is it joint venture or more like parent-subsidiary structure?

Base is a chain launched by Coinbase. For now, they are the only validator, and I believe their goal is a gradual decentralization as the project progresses. The project, I should remind you, is still very new since Base was created just two short years ago (summer 2023). As for the legal structure and company status, I couldn’t really say that’s not really my area.
