A fantastical read. A good near future science fiction book on the topic is "Delta-v: https://x.com/yishan/status/1915710581656740239 https://www.amazon.com/Delta-v-Daniel-Suarez/dp/1524742414

Recently finished Delta-V and found it just ok, not great. Half of the book is the setup for the expedition, and it feels in the second half that Suarez got bored or rushed by either a deadline or page count limit, and TL;DR’ed much of the rest of the story. However, the broader point remains that it’s an interesting exploration of the idea of private space mining ops and of a permanent lunar base to rid ourselves of the delta-V constraints of Earth’s gravity well
