This was in the context of founding something, but in my experience in Silicon Valley, few if any of the most talented and ambitious and most importantly the best results came from a super wealthy background.

And the network you have when wealthy. You fit in with other wealthy people, i.e., investors, and they are more likely to feel comfortable around you. You can also take big risks and fail and still be fine. No safety net might make people more ambitious, but it's not the same as knowing you won't ever end up homeless.
