1. Launches tomorrow Tuesday May 27 after 1pm Pacific. In-app notification.

2. First 10,000 subscribers will receive an NFT at a later date. It's the same NFT for everyone. One subscription per FID. You must use the Farcaster mobile app to subscribe. USDC or warps—one or the other, no combinations.

3. There are no other benefits to the NFT; it's a benefit of Farcaster Pro. If you end up buying an NFT on the secondary market, there's no secret benefit.

4. If you have any hesitations about Farcaster Pro — $120 annually, only Day 1 feature is a badge and NFT—then *do not* subscribe. There are no refunds. We'd like to add 10K character casts and up to 4 images in the near future, but you should only subscribe tomorrow if you're excited about it.

5. It's one price globally. The goal here is to maximize revenue for the protocol—and 100% of revenue will go to creator and developer rewards.

6. It's optional. No benefit to reach, visibility or rewards. You don't have to subscribe.

I appreciate this level-headed, no-nonsense approach to the launch of Farcaster Pro. 

I won't be opting in for a paid subscription for personal reasons, but I support the way these business decisions are being made with an eye toward 

1) sustainable revenue for the protocol, and
2) supporting creators and devs.

I find that the USD 120 price tag is a bit steep for markets outside the US. It’s more than Apple Music or Spotify, for instance, with comparatively few benefits beyond the bragging rights of the badge and the NFT. The ability to post long form casts has existed for a while now in the form of auto threading

All good points, and I agree that it's pricey for what it is.

But with 100% of the revenue going to creators and devs, it seems worth the experiment.

For perspective, the annual price tag of $120 is almost 1/3rd of the monthly salary in Thailand, where the last Devcon was held (and an upper-middle-income developing economy, so not Botswana either).

I understand that FC may not yet be aiming to capture the mass market in those countries, and that the optional sub caters to a niche category of users. But it signals that FC is for now still primarily catering to the North American market

I’ll likely get the badge because I’m OG and keen to support, but it’s pricey for what it is
