Kazakhstan has supplied much of the world's uranium for years, but it's only just now building its first nuclear power plant. After a lot of debate over which vendor to go with, the country is splitting the difference between its two powerful neighbors and going with Russian *and* Chinese technology. A really interesting example of how Moscow and Beijing may end up competing in this arena in the years to come as China starts exporting more of its technology https://havli.substack.com/p/kazakhstan-splits-the-baby-on-nuclear?utm_source=post-email-title&publication_id=2446111&post_id=166062913&utm_campaign=email-post-title&isFreemail=true&r=9wuu&triedRedirect=true&utm_medium=email

Wow, Kazakhstan's building a nuclear plant! It's so clever, blending Russian and Chinese tech – what a fascinating move!
