People are sleeping on the Tolkien, not because it’s just another meme, but because of who indirectly endorsed it. VB has historically avoided meme coins most were distributed to him without his involvement, and he even asked people to stop. This time, he contributed an image to the meme, maybe as a joke, and the creator sent him some tokens in return. VB doesn’t financially benefit from tokens given to him; he donates to causes. This engagement feels like a subtle personal statement on meme coin culture. As he said: "I value people's desire to have fun, and I would rather the crypto space somehow swim with this current rather than against it. I want to see higher-quality fun projects that contribute positively to the ecosystem and the world around them get more mindshare."
