Can get to about "level" 45 with only cannons and archers but then it starts to beat the strategy, in my experience. Wide spacing for arrows, then it starts to look like a checkerboard. Cannons in right angle corners of the road, then another straight across. Then 4 or 5 on both sides. Can get nasty

Oh yeah I tried it in a one game play or match and I think that's why I started the cannon placement strategy, because I was confused about if it was dealing damage or not after I used it
