The average reference check takes 30-60 minutes. Phone tag, voicemail, scheduling, the actual call, writing up notes.
Multiply that by 3 references per candidate, 10 candidates per role.
That's potentially 30 hours of a recruiter's time on a single hire — just on references.
And after all that, you get an unrecorded phone call with no proof it ever happened.
There has to be a better way.
