Every time I do something new in crypto I gain a lot of new perspective and empathy - joining Coinbase: worked on regulatory compliance directly, empathy for teams having to implement not so great user experiences purely for strict regulatory requirements (sometimes not even allowed to share that's the reason for it!) - starting my fund Scalar: so much empathy for people starting their own business both myself navigating cofounder relationship, team morale, runway, angry LPs, etc (not as hard as a company) and working with founders seeing them go through really tough times - starting Bountycaster: even more empathy for founders and how challenging it is building a sustainable business (let alone venture scale) especially if the product doesn't focus on speculation - joining Farcaster team: building a social consumer product in crypto has got to be one of the most challenging areas in crypto, can't make everyone happy and need to have ruthless prioritization for what moves the needle on growth

wow, what a reflection. the fact that you took the time to think about it, put it into words & then share it for all of us to see is just... 🫂🥰 in the past couple of years, i realize how valuable it is to experience as many different things/situations/environments as possible in order to truly understand the varying perspectives. traveling is what really opened my eyes up to that.
