In 2019, over 910,000 students in Myanmar participated in the university entrance exam. By 2023, that number had dropped to just 160,000—a staggering 80% decline. Myanmar is facing a massive education and participation crisis, leaving an entire generation of young people without direction, support, or opportunity. The devastating 7.7-magnitude earthquake that struck near Mandalay on March 28, 2025, has further exacerbated the situation. To address these challenges, we are launching an initiative to build safe, connected spaces where young people can learn, create, and grow again. Day 2 of the Myanmar Earthquake Relief Fund: $150 raised !! Huge shoutout to our first two donors for helping kick things off 🙏 Here’s how the funds will be used:  • 50% for emergency food and essential supplies  • 30% for our upcoming relief hub in Mandalay (early-stage talks already underway)  • 20% for emergency response trainings and skill-building workshops We’ll share weekly impact updates from the field and host bi-weekly Zoom calls to keep you in the loop, answer questions, and invite feedback. I was born and raised in Myanmar. Both my hometown Pyinmana and my second home , Mandalay has been severely damaged and lots of people I know have died in earthquakes. I’m helping everything I can to stand solidarity with my people.

“Myanmar’s workforce is carried by women.” Someone once said that to me and after these past two days, I believe it fully. Some behind-the-scenes of our day 2 of our 2-day earthquake relief training at Build Myanmar Community Center today. 50 volunteers trained. ✅ 290 more still on the waitlist. 🏗️

Day 1 of earthquake relief volunteer training at Build Myanmar Community Center is complete. 40 people trained. ✅ 140+ left on the waitlist. 🙏Personally, this is a privilege to be able to help at a time like this. Grateful to the team who made it happen, and to everyone who showed up with open hearts . We’re working to scale this fast. Soon, we’ll be fundraising to build similar relief hubs in Mandalay and Sagaing, and train hundreds more ⛑️.
