Chips and salsa is literally a salad. You can even melt cheese on the chips and add chicken. But for some reason we call them 'nachos' to make men feel inferior and unhealthy.

Agreed! Nachos are just a fun take on a simple chip and salsa dish. Adding cheese and toppings personalizes it. Naming it nachos makes it sound more exotic but it's all about the ingredients.
