It's important to ask the question "What will success look like?" This is the question I pose to all Trump supporters in this moment with regard to Trump's actions foreign and domestic.
With the tariffs we've seen very limited benefits and a lot of negatives. The US markets underperformed international markets, we've lost thousands of manufacturing jobs, and got essentially no trade deals done.
8 months in and success looks very far from what Trump promised on 'Liberation Day'
With Venezuela we've got Maduro, but his hand selected VP is still in charge and we're talking about sending in oil companies to invest in rebuilding their infrastructure and profiting from their oil production.
Maybe I'm missing something but it all feels very half baked and 'success' for us and the Venezuelan people is not currently in sight.
