Who Cares About Stats Anyway?

Well, I guess I do because I keep looking at them.

Numbers.

You know, Google Analytics, Subscriber count, Followers… did someone put a heart on it?

I checked my stats again today. Minutes ago.

I don’t like doing it. I don’t recommend it. It just kind of… happened. Like when you open the fridge for the fifth time, hoping something new will appear.

Except instead of leftovers, it's disappointment, insecurity, and a vague desire to delete everything and move to Alaska.

I thrive best hermit style. That’s a shout out to Bjork.

Anyway, the views or sessions or whatever seem to be going backwards. The likes, fewer. The subscribers, static.

A shrug from the algorithm gods.

And then the thought, quiet but mean, snuck in again:

“Why do I keep doing this if no one cares?” ⬇️ ⬇️ (read more)

I don’t waste my time with that kind of activity, especially if it would bring me down. 
What I do instead is trying to find ways to connect, contribute, collect and exchange. I prefer to be active and do things vs waiting for thing to happen or people to notice me.
