the apple airpod max with the noise cancelling is the single best piece of hardware I've owned in a while. didn't use it for a year but here are some benefits -- lack of irritation in my ears from wearing >1hr, better sound quality over airpods (duh), noise cancelling to work from noisy locations (coffee shops), fewer people distract you if you're trying to stay focused. I guess you can get any noise cancelling but I've heard the sound quality is unparalleled. If they're too tight, just stretch them out a bit. YMMV.
