Getting someone to try something a second time is even harder 

First impressions are hard to change

only if your first impressions keep changing. then you get retrained to not judge on first impressions. products used to be a one time thing for me, now I try them again if someone mentions them.

in software, rate of change is often what matters most. it takes time to get them to try again but they eventually do if your current solution falls short.
