In Eroom's Law (the reverse of Moore's Law) inflation-adjusted cost of developing a new drug roughly doubles every nine years. I'm not sure how much longer this will continue but BioPharma R&D is spending considerably more money bringing drugs to market and that is being passed onto to consumers.
