We sell 95 percent of our veggies right from the farm, the other 5 percent is sold at the New Bedford Farmers Market, which we’ve attended for 15+ years. It’s not a great $ market; yet we’ve stuck with it b/c it helps get fresh veggies to folks in the city and often benefits lower income residents who participate in state & federal nutrition programs. This includes Seniors & WIC families in the farmers market nutrition program - who get old fashioned coupons (pictured here) Mass also funds a matching Healthy Incentives Program (HIP) for SNAP recipients. Small scale production isn’t ā€œcheapā€ and these social programs expand the population who gets to enjoy the nutrition and flavors of seasonal locally grown fruit & veg. Typically 80% of our customers at this farmers market are SNAP/HIP or Seniors/WIC recipients.

Looks great, local is the way to do it. Wish you were in California.
