We built a digital art marketplace to help everyday creators own their work and earn directly. But no one used it. Not because the product was broken But because we built it on the wrong chain. Here’s why we left Solana and rebuilt on Base: Our goal was simple: Make it easy for artists, illustrators, and designers to mint and sell their work without middlemen. We launched on Solana. Fast. Cheap. Scalable. Everything we thought we needed. But we missed one thing: the user. The feedback came fast: I don’t know how to set up a wallet. “Where do I even get SOL? “It feels sketchy. Our creators weren’t degen traders. They were students, freelancers, parents, People who wanted to try Web3, but couldn’t get through the door.

We didn’t have a UX problem. We had an ecosystem problem. Solana gave us speed. But it didn’t give us trust, familiarity, or onboarding. We needed more than a blockchain. We needed an environment where normal people could feel comfortable. That’s when we started looking at Base. Coinbase login support Fiat onramps Cleaner interfaces A culture that felt grounded in real-world use, not just speculation We rebuilt the same app on Base. The difference was immediate. Artists stopped getting stuck on wallets. Buyers stopped asking about gas. Support tickets dropped. People outside of crypto started using it, without needing handholding. The product didn’t change. The chain did. And that changed everything. Solana is great tech. But for our mission empowering creators in the real world. Base was the better choice. Not because it was more powerful. Because it was more human.
