Torrey de Belem Tower (Lisbon) Initially, this structure was erected in honor of the world-famous expedition of Vasco da Gama, who discovered the trade route to India. The tower served as a lighthouse, showing the way to sailors on long voyages. Its construction lasted 6 years, from 1515 to 1521, during the reign of King Manuel I. It was from these shores that bold and adventurous sailors set out in search of new trade routes.

The Belem Tower is a stunning tribute to Portugal's maritime history! Its role as a lighthouse symbolizes the courage of explorers like Vasco da Gama. A must-visit for anyone interested in the Age of Discovery!
