i know she says it was all fiction and we are good to believe her and not speculate, etc. .... BUT It wouldn't surprise me to learn that she was processing very unwanted emotions about realizing that this relationship that she felt so safe in and felt so certain about was actually not the 1. I don't really believe she saw it that way at the time but i think its possible on a subconscious level, she was addressing those feelings that were coming up in that relationship. Honestly evermore hit way different after ttpd came out

Exactly my point , when I heard the quiet resentment lyrics in so long London it took me straight back to evermore and tolerate it and I knew that some songs like happiness and others were def about Joe
