Got some important holes to make tomorrow.
Need to drill and tap 4 M6 threaded holes for mounting my ball screw along the Z axis on my mini mill.
I noticed after studying reference drawings and YouTube screenshots that folks usually mount the motor drive movement on the side of the machine. I now realize, that way you only need to align along one dimension but I can’t resist the cleaner back location. Seems also like a centered action might pull the head more evenly like the original rack & pinion and makes supporting on both sides simpler but makes the alignment harder to nail. Faking my way through engineering this as usual. I can always drill more holes later.
