I don't care about what their going to do with the token, I'm paying them for attention, if my Boss pays me for work, they don't have a say in if I can / should convert my money into food. 

The wrong question is being asked here imo. 

The question or focus should be, Find me a user group that has a higher probability of continually using my product and I'll pay 10x that.

I've done a couple of different $VEIL airdrops for different reasons, some for exposure, some to support other projects and then some to reward usage. 

Rewarding usage has had the best results, as you get them to try the product end to end before claiming.

yep would be pretty neat to see these airdrops evolve to "complete X action to claim" so that the user has at least tried the product 

most products have a point where if user reaches Y point Z % retains - being able to try throwing $ at a new user group reaching that point and seeing the results would be interesting

How likely is user going to interact and engage long term.

Again I do not care. If I did, I wouldn’t sleep at night. 

The minute I release the tokens they are gone, I let the market decide. 

The thinking goes into working out what’s the right amount. It’s wasted effort trying to micro manage people.

imo @nbragg did the best airdrop.

he identified clear user profiles that would be interested in his app (gaming), figured out onchain metrics which best represented these profiles, and dropped tokens to these power users to get them to test out (and spread word of) his app.

What's this "don't sell airdrops" I'm seeing? Outside farcaster, it's "we're making money on farcaster" but on farcaster it's "If you actually make money, you deserve to be stoned and banned for life"

Airdrop is marketing, you're saying "Hey, here's some money, we hope it makes you use our app and tell your friends about our app". But shaming seller is saying "Take this money but you can never use it. You must use my app". 

You don't want to hear it but people don't use your app because it's not good enough. Selling or holding doesn't mean they "believe" your app more. People can sell and still keep using your app everyday because it's good. Some can hold because it's not much value but they still don't believe in the app.
 
Restricting users because they sold airdrops is worse rep for your app. What message are you passing those who are you're giving? "I'm buying your time, attention for 10 $dickbut work $0.4 and if you sell you won't be able to get any $fartcoin work $0.3". Surely people are worth more

This is the way. I've been a part of every veil incentive wave for depositing. I sell some percentage to cover the cost of the eth fee, turn some into profit, and stake some.

yep, makes sense. if the goal’s to get users, just focus on who’s most likely to stick around. whether they dump or not doesn’t matter much if they never come back anyway
