It's for sure a grower :) I accidently stopped collecting physical copies after streaming took over, but every time I look at a Closet video I want to buy a DVD or two.

Also to answer your original question, yes! This was my very first Criterion DVD. I still have the old 2 disc edition back home.

Ah there’s no stampede per chance! There is a lot of Steve McQueen though. Bonus liberal arts major points: both films draw inspiration from the myth of Seven Against Thebes.

Started me on my Criterion journey. The Magnificent Seven (1960) by John Sturges is a like a samurai epic, except with guns, farms, and Yuyl Brynner.

Worked at GE for six years. Great to see the old Power business triumph. They’re great people. Congrats on the debut!

Remixes are fire. Photek is outstanding. Glitch Mob and Avicii too

I have another view on this and maybe it’s survivorship bias. I see all that divinely inspired art and then feel very empty when viewing later works. That direct link was for sure enriching.

The constant family discussion is the idea of faith vs. religion and how they sustain and oppose one another.

Have done both. My current preference is to recover and gradually build back up. I’m doing this post LA 2025.

Commuted into Grand Central Terminal daily for 3 years. The place is a treasure. The clock in the middle is gorgeous and one of the classic examples of a Schelling Point
