The Caño Cristales River, flowing through the mountains of Colombia, can rightfully be called the most colorful and vibrant river in the world. Locals often refer to it as the "River of Five Colors." In reality, it’s hard to count how many shades this extraordinary river truly holds — yellow, orange, pink, red, blue, green, black, and countless variations in between. Originating on a mountain plateau south of the Sierra de la Macarena National Reserve, the river stretches 100 kilometers in length and up to 20 meters in width, making it the reserve’s main attraction.
